She is a trusted advisor to boards and C-suite executives and advises company leadership on regulatory issues ranging from anti-corruption to privacy. She also advises boards on internal governance, including creation of new committees, workload allocation, and strategic initiatives. She is a law school professor and recognized expert on governance and risk. Meagan has worked with many of the firm’s clients for a decade and leads the firm’s risk and governance practice.
Based in Austin, Meagan has worked on some of the most important governance challenges for the world’s largest companies. She has deep subject matter expertise across many subject matters. In addition to her work for global Fortune 100 companies, Meagan has advised a number of startups and post-IPO technology companies on governance and compliance program development. She has advised general counsels on how to optimize legal operations around risk and create bespoke governance.
Meagan has also advised companies on monitorship scope and activities and helped companies prepare for regulatory oversight. Meagan’s guidance on risk and governance has been critical for clients facing scrutiny by the U.S. Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, and other regulators. Her work on enterprise risk assessment design and governance processes have been widely adopted by stakeholders in numerous industries. Recently, Meagan designed a risk assessment process for one of the largest charity organizations, and the firm donated over $50,000 in legal services to help enhance the governance of this critical first responder.
